Coronavirus is already placing a huge strain on our community, and those who are already struggling will be hit hardest.

Fair Frome is here to help as many people as possible during this crisis, but it’s having an impact on us too.  Demand will inevitably rise, but many of our volunteers are older and self-isolating and we have to keep everyone safe.

For the moment, the Food Bank is our number one priority and we are working as hard as we can to ensure that this can keep going and cope with demand.

Food at Five and the Furniture Bank are suspended for health reasons and to make sure we have enough people to run the food bank.  The Housing Surgery and Aster tenants surgeries will also be suspended

To get help from the Food Bank, you need a referral.

These can come from Citizens Advice, Job Centre Plus, health visitors, Mendip Health Connections, Frome Medical Practice or social services.  Even where offices are closed, telephone lines are open.

We can’t get food to people simply because they are ill or self-isolating.  This is where we need the help of neighbours and friends to shop for them.  Please do whatever you can in your own area.

Please donate any long-life food you can at our donation points, in Asda, Sainsburys, the Co-ops in Badcox and Westway, Tesco Express and Frome Wholefoods.  With supermarkets rationing purchases, our reserves are going to go down very quickly, so every single donation is important.

If you can’t get to the supermarket, please think about giving us some money.  You can give a one-off donation on this page.  Even better would be to use the same link and set up a standing order, which gives us not just help but the chance to plan what we are doing.

If you want to volunteer, we will need all the help we can get and we would love to get you on board.  Please email Lenka .

This page will be updated if anything changes, and you can also get information from our Facebook page
