THANK YOU FROME!

Thank you Frome for supporting us to support our community ! We have been going 10 years!

The Frome Times reports:

As Fair Frome enters its tenth year as a registered charity ,the organisation marked the occasion by holding a Summer BBQ    in its newly opened garden.

The Chair of the trustees at Fair Frome, John Killah, said as follows:

‘On behalf of all the trustees I would just like to take the opportunity to thank the many volunteers, supporters and members of our partner organisations who came along to support the event. It was especially gratifying to see faces there from when the Frome Food Bank started off a decade ago in Palmer Street.’

Not only does Fair Frome service the town’s Food Bank, but amongst other activities, also runs the Furniture Bank, Food @ Five and the Community Pantry. Fair Frome’s latest venture has been to provide breakfasts for pupils attending Selwood School and Frome College.

‘As trustees, we felt it important that we were able to give a big ‘thank you Frome’ message to all the individuals, businesses, charities, councils and other organisations that have made Fair Frome happen,’ adds John. ‘That the town has an efficient and well-run Food Bank facility is all down to the incredible generosity of the amazing people of Frome- so thank you!’

During the event, special thanks were given to Cayfords Family Butchers, Grill 44 and Petals Bakehouse for their donation of product, time and service, helping to make the event so memorable.

John Killah told the guests at the early evening event that the occasion was very much a special one-off opportunity to say ‘thank you.’

‘’It certainly was not a celebration in any form,’ concludes John. ‘No one should ever be celebrating that it is necessary to have a Food Bank with its related services in their town. It would be great to have a real celebration party in the future to mark the fact that there is no food poverty or cost of living crisis and that the Food Bank was no longer needed. Sadly, that day may be a little while away. Until then, Fair Frome will continue what it has been doing for the last 10 years, all made possible by the fantastic generosity of the people of Frome.’
