New Trustees at Fair Frome

Fair Frome Welcomes New Trustees

Fair Frome, which runs the town’s Food Bank, Furniture Bank, Food at Five, Community Pantry, Baby Basics Bank, the Financial Assistance Scheme and other projects has announced the appointment of four new volunteer trustees.

The new trustees appointed are Jane Battye, Kieran Clancy, Jess Gardiner and Rob Taylor. The Chairman of trustees John Killah has warmly welcomed the new arrivals.

“We are delighted to welcome our new trustees to the team. It is great to hear fresh perspectives on how we do things. Their wealth of knowledge and new ideas will help to ensure that Fair Frome continues to be an adaptable and resilient service for the future.”

The new trustees have already been getting involved with the various projects that Fair Frome runs. Jess Gardiner, told us more about her experience as one of the newest members of the Fair Frome team.

“The staff, volunteers and existing trustees at Fair Frome have been amazing. I have been warmly welcomed by everybody I’ve met and have received all the information and training I need to get to grips with all the great work that Fair Frome does. I have already volunteered for the Food at Five session on a Monday at The Key Centre and helped on a Friday at the Food Bank which is at Fair Frome’s premises on Marston Trading Estate. Being a charity trustee is a serious role and means taking responsibility for the way things are done but the reward is knowing you are helping to support the work that staff and volunteers do to provide essential services for those local people who are most in need. I believe it’s important to recognise that we all benefit from their work as it helps create a greater sense of well-being in the wider community. When the opportunity came up to offer my support as a trustee it was a no brainer and I encourage others who might be interested to keep their eyes open for future opportunities.”
