Times are hard for many people in our local community, and at Fair Frome, we are seeing unprecedented demand for our food bank and support services.
Unexpected challenges such as a sudden bill, an unexpected repair, or a sudden change in circumstances can make an already tight budget feel overwhelming. If you are facing an urgent financial emergency, support is available.
If you live in Somerset, are on a low income, or receive certain benefits, you may be eligible for a crisis payment from the Crisis Resilience Fund to help cover essential living costs.
In addition to general emergency financial support, the scheme offers:
Housing-related crisis payments
Support for heating oil costs
To make an application, you will need to provide:
Photo ID
Your Universal Credit statement and/or recent bank statements
While you can apply directly online, you don’t have to navigate the process alone. If you need help filling out the form, organising your documents, or getting paperwork scanned, Citizens Advice is here to assist you in person:
Mondays (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Frome Town Hall
Fridays (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Fair Frome
The friendly team can help gather your documents and upload them on your behalf.
The scheme is administered by the Crisis Resilience Alliance, working in partnership with Citizens Advice Somerset and Somerset Council.
